Promotional Video: Ordubad Historical-Architectural Reserve

Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Project Management June 2026

HUMAN Hub produced a 6-minute documentary-style video for the Ordubad Historical-Architectural Reserve, submitted alongside the site's ICESCO Tentative List nomination. The video serves as both a promotional piece and a visual companion to the written dossier, presenting the reserve's heritage significance to an international audience.

The video features aerial drone footage capturing the city's historic urban landscape, including its five quarters (Ambaras, Kurdtatal, Mingis, Sar Sheher, and Uch), the radial street network, and key architectural landmarks such as the central glass mosque, medieval market square, caravanserais, and the Ambaras citadel. Ground-level footage documents the city's intangible cultural heritage, including traditional silk weaving, artisanal craftsmanship, and local horticulture practices that have been passed down across generations.

The video is narrated in English with explanatory voiceover covering the site's origins as a Silk Road caravan city, its development between the 15th and 18th centuries, and its cultural importance within the Islamic world.
